Hello Loves:
So today is more of a rant than anything. It never fails: why is it everytime I like something it becomes discontinued?! Everything from my signature hair color to my favrotie meals at a restaurant abandons me. It makes me very sad =( I felt the need to share with you my list of personal favrotie discontinued products, and if you have any of your own that you would like to share, please comment and let me know. Also, I apologize in advance if some of you are too young to remember some of these products: don’t take it personally.
1. Estee Lauder “Pure Pops” Lip Gloss Pops in “Fizzy Pear”
One of my old favorites. It tastes good, smelled good, was a beautiful coppery shimmer and lasted forever. RIP.
2. Victoria’s Secret “Ooh La La”
Everything about this one was perfect: the bottle, the smell, the old 1940s atomizer. Too bad not as many other girls felt the same because this bottle of perfection left stores in 2011.
3. Chocolate Covered Altoids
In junior high, these things were always in my pockets. The chocolate would melt in your mouth and then there would be a perfectly good Altoid underneath to keep your breath fresh. Chocolate then cinnamon? No wonder all the boys wanted to kiss me in 8th grade ;)
4. Body Central Stores
You know your luck is terrible when an ENTIRE FRANCHISE you like goes under.
5. Bath and Body Works “Breathe Romance” Fragrance
Easily the best, more expensive-smelling fragrance B&BW ever launched. It was a mix of amber and myrhh and was discontinued in 2005 (did I just date myself there?) What is even weirder is how if you go online to look for it, it sells for around $70!
6. Victoria’s Secret “Enchanted Apple”
This was honestly one of the first “big girl” fragrances I ever had, I got it for my 11th birthday and it was discontinued three years later. The good news is, B&BW has one almost identical called “Country Apple” and you can find it at the semi-annual sales.
7. Avon MARK “Costa Rica” Fragrance
The only reason I subscribed to Avon catalogs was so I could order my MARK Costa Rica perfume rollerball. Of course to my luck, summer of 2011 I went to order and it was no longer found…
8. Gatorade in “Lime Cucumber”
Many athletes globally would probably be happy this flavor is no longer in the making, but for me, it breaks my heart. It was cool and refreshing and didn’t taste fake and salty like most gatorades. Good thing there is a baragin outlet down the road from me that still carries it (good old Gabriel Brothers).
9. Bucca di Beppo “Gnocchi Telefono”
This is sort of irrelevant, but this has been my FAVORITE item on Bucca’s menu since I was five years old and they removed it for good last year….
10. Loreal Healthy Look Crème Gloss Hair Color
This series in “espresso” was my signature go-to. Sadly, it was only around for about 3 years before they decided to take it off the shelves for good.
11. Victoria’s Secret “Beauty Rush” Lip Glosses
These were honestly my entire high school years. My favroites were always “Slice of Heaven” and “Mochaboom” and all my girlfriends had a favorite as well. Oh, how I wish these originals were brought back. I actually remember when these were first released eons ago and "Slice of Heaven" was originally "Piece of Cake" and "Honey Do" was named "Cantaloopy".
12. Loreal MagicSmooth Souffle Crème Foundation
This stuff was great while it lasted. It must not have lasted long though because I bought a jar last summer and the jar said “NEW!” but then it was discontinued in October…
13. Victoria’s Secret “Midnight Dare”
It pisses me off how VS still releases “Pear Glace” (which smells like dirt) but they discontinued this one. Every guy I knew loved this one, out in public I would get conplements, and then one year they stopped production. Good thing I still have two bottles of it haha
14. Reese’s Swoops
For some of you, you may not have been born yet when these were the craze. My father and I would get a box of these every time we would go to Giant Eagle until they were stopped in 2005.
15. Revlon “Custom Creations” Foundation
This foundation had genius intentions, but did not do well on the market for some reason. It had 4 vials, each filled with a shade slightly differernt from the other and you would turn this dial and mix the shade that you want. It was absolutely genius and I don’t know why it wasn’t successful.
16. B&BW “Sweet Pea Forever” Fragrance
This one was fruity, summery, and all-around happy smelling, but I guess it didn’t make sales happy because it was only on the shelves for a year.
17. Victoria’s Secret “Lost in Fantasy”
A classic: it was released in the late 90’s and discontinued in 2012 and I don’t know why because it has nothing but good reviews. I’m lucky I got my hands on a set of it the year it was stopped.
18. Stewart’s “Key Lime” Soda
Incase anyone cares, this is my favorite soda of all time (yes, I say “soda”). It is so long discontinued that Cracker Barrel doenst even carry it anymore =(
Also, I have some post ideas that will be up shortly that are less ranting: I’m posting a spotlight on my good guy friend, Dakota and I’m pretty excited because I’ve never done a post geared towards guys. I also have a prom request, a foundation review as well as a travel recap of my Spring Break in Florida =)
Thanks for reading
Xoxo
