Hello Loves It's been a hot minute since I've done a monthly obsession. I guess there really have not been any major trends jumping out at me like there have been before. However, this month, I am really feeling HAIR PRIMER. Yes, hair primer...like the silicone stuff you use on your ace, but on your hair this time. The first hair primer I tried that first ignited my love was Living Proof Style Extend Hair Primer. WHY it works: perfect for keeping your hair straight or curly on either really humid and hot days, or on windy days. It will keep your hair remaining either the straight or curly hairstyle that you want, and will not let it fall to that awkward in-between, wavy, limp style. WHO can use it: people who have trouble keeping their hair locked in a certain style. My hair is very thick and coarse, so it has trouble staying straight, but it also has trouble staying curled: it can tend to look stringy with a gust of wind. This is also perfect for women who work long hours and maybe want to go somewhere nice after and don't want to have a hassle of a hairstyle. HOW to use it: stray it in your hair while it's wet, and then again right before you plan on styling it. Follow up with some hairspray. PROS: keeps my hair in the style I intended, smells nice, cute packaging. CONS: a tad expensive ($16). It works though. If you are looking to save some money, try the hair primer by Not Your Mothers, which was not quite as good, but I definitely think it kept my style longer than if I had not used any primer. Here is some living proof (no pun intended) that this stuff works: this is my hair two weeks ago, same temperature, same location, same climate, and see how it fell limp? The second photo is the same temperature, same location, and same climate, but I used the primer and it stayed sleek and curled longer. This was also my hair AFTER A CONCERT....with Derek..from State Champs, but that will be another post (trust me) There you have it, short and sweet, my obsession of the month. If there are any other primers you like and want to share, feel free! Thanks for reading. xoxo -A |
